TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Folks across the Big Bend can now nominate people for the 2027 annual Cherry Hall Alexander African American History Calendar at Tallahassee State College.
The history calendar recognizes notable African-Americans across the Big Bend region who paved the way. TSC said this year’s theme is ‘From Print to Pixels: Black Creators and Communicators’ to highlight people who have impacted journalism, publishing, communications and more.

“This year’s theme explores how local African Americans have used media to tell their stories, educate and inform the public, strengthen community connections, and shape public discourse while highlighting the evolving role of media and communication in today’s digital-forward age,” TSC said in a press release.
All nominees have to be living in Leon, Wakulla, Jefferson or Gadsden County.
People can submit their nominations until Aug. 31 here.
