A young girl was airlifted to the hospital after falling from a balcony at a North Miami Beach apartment building Thursday morning, officials said.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials said crews responded to the three-story building at 2150 Northeast 169th Street for reports of a medical call involving reports of a long fall.
North Miami Beach Police said when officers responded, the 8-year-old was found alert and conscious.
It appeared the girl was exiting a window in an attempt to land on the balcony when she fell, police said.
She was airlifted to a local trauma center for treatment, fire rescue officials said. Police later said that she was in stable condition with no broken bones.
Cell phone video showed the girl on the ground outside the building being assisted by three adults. She appeared to be moving her arms on her own in the video.
One man said he saw the girl hanging from a window and rushed to help her but wasn’t able to reach her in time.
A parent was at the scene and the incident is under investigation but no foul play was suspected at this time, police said.
No other details were immediately known.
