The Temple Terrace Police Department recently launched a new software program to improve communication with its residents.
Versaterm is an automated communications system that will help keep residents informed after certain calls for police service and reported crimes. According to Versaterm’s website, the program creates ongoing engagement with regular requests for feedback on interactions and service while providing updates on comments or complaints.
” It allows us to provide better access to information for our victims and callers. Then it provides more transparency, and we can share even more information with our residents as we grow with this program,” said Amber Huchla, Services Commander at the Temple Terrace Police Department.
The technology will benefit the local community and offer prompt emails and text messages regarding delays and police arrival times.
Keeping residents in the loop helps to aid transparency but also allows that individual to make informed safety decisions. After each contact, the system allows callers to input how they felt about the process, making the department aware of their perspective.
” We want to know where we can do better, where we can support our community more, but also we love to hear from residents, appreciation or grace in different situations,” said Huchla.
The police department says resident feedback is essential to building transparency and trust and to achieving its strategic goals.
