JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – Police are looking for a driver who struck a pedestrian early this morning in Jacksonville who later died.
The crash happened around 12:30 a.m. at Western Boulevard and Gateway Drive South.
Police say a Jeep Wrangler first hit the victim, and as the driver was rendering aid, a second vehicle struck the pedestrian and didn’t stop.
That second vehicle was pulling a U-Haul trailer, according to police.
The pedestrian, whose name has yet to be released, died after being taken to the hospital.
