Police investigate disturbance at Cape Coral shopping plaza
CAPE CORAL, Fla. —
Cape Coral police are investigating a disturbance in a shopping plaza parking lot along Del Prado Boulevard near Four Mile Cove Parkway, where officers taped off the area Thursday, but confirmed no one was shot or injured.
Lance Ladia, who works nearby, said he noticed something unusual when multiple police officers arrived at the plaza across the street.
“I was just really confused as to why the entire parking lot was like taped off,” Ladia said.
Police stated their detectives came to the scene to investigate a potential battery. Video from the scene, taken around 8:30 p.m., showed officers examining the area.
“I was working out here last night around 9 p.m. The police were there probably about 4 or 5 cop cars in there taping the entire parking lot off,” he said.
The investigation is ongoing.
