The Florida State Fraternal Order of Police and FOP District 7 are endorsing Rick Singh for Orange County Clerk of Court, handing the former Property Appraiser law enforcement backing as he works to restart his political career.

“Rick Singh understands the importance of strong public institutions and the critical role the Clerk of Court plays in supporting our justice system,” said Jeff Stinson, President of the Florida State FOP. “He has earned a reputation as a thoughtful and effective public servant who values integrity, accountability, and service. We are proud to support his candidacy.”

The FOP is the largest organization of sworn law enforcement officers in the world, and the Florida State Lodge ranks as its third-largest state lodge. District 7 represents lodges across 10 Central Florida counties, including Orange.

Gus Marinoni, the District 7 Director, said constitutional offices demand experienced leaders.

“The Clerk of Court’s Office must be led by someone with proven executive experience and a commitment to serving the public fairly and efficiently,” Marinoni said. “Rick Singh has demonstrated those qualities throughout his career, and we are confident he will be an outstanding Clerk of Court for Orange County.”

“Rick Singh has always been accessible, professional, and committed to strengthening public confidence in government,” Henning said. “The Clerk of Court is an essential partner in our justice system, and Rick understands the importance of ensuring that the office operates with transparency, efficiency, and integrity.”

The endorsement adds to backing Singh picked up last month from the Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s Political Operations Division.

Singh served two terms as Orange County Property Appraiser before losing his 2020 re-election bid to Amy Mercado in the Democratic Primary. In the open Clerk’s race, he faces term-limited County Commissioner Maribel Gomez Corderoand Roberta Walton Johnson, General Counsel for the Clerk’s office, in the Aug. 18 Democratic Primary. The winner will face independent candidate Terrell Thomas, a real estate agent, in November.

Singh reported raising about $106,000 in April and May combined, including $25,000 of his own money.
