TAMPA, Fla. — If snakes aren’t your thing, maybe scallops are! Scallop Season in Pasco County is happening now.

The season runs through August 18, so you have plenty of time to get out on the water and harvest them.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) said that people can only do scalloping by hand, or by using a landing or dip net.

There is a two-gallon daily bag limit.

Scallop season kicked off last week in Citrus and Hernando counties.

The season there runs through September 24.
