  • July 12, 2026

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Higher storm coverage is expected over the next few days, so if you have NOT seen the rain just yet, the luck is in your favor.

More weekend rain

As you head out the door to church on Sunday morning, it is going to be warm and humid with mostly sunny skies. Clouds will slowly increase throughout the morning, but no weather impacts are expected.

Storms are expected this afternoon for MUCH of the area. Some coastal communities may dodge the rain, but the remainder of the area has a good chance at seeing rain and thunderstorms, mainly after 1 p.m.

Some storms may be strong that could down tree branches or limbs from downburst or microburst winds, which we have seen the last few days. Damage can come quickly and unexpectedly, even before a warning is issued. Be sure you are staying weather aware today if you are spending your Sunday outside or traveling at all.

For those heading to the coast, this morning is just fine to get the small crafts out, winds out of the west around 5 to 10 knots, climbing to 15 knots this afternoon. Waves 2 feet or less. Partly sunny skies with afternoon showers and storms.

The weather pattern will stay pretty active through Tuesday. The reason storm coverage is higher today through early next week is this front and associated upper low. The front adds as an extra boost for the sea breeze during the afternoon, so rain coverage will be higher until the low exits the region late Tuesday or Early Wednesday.

More rain and more clouds means lower temperatures. Highs in the mid to upper 80s on Monday and Tuesday. Back into the 90s Wednesday and beyond as sun returns, but we keep the afternoon shower chances around.
