Police say he is charged with statutory sexual assault.
Yesterday’s storms caused flash flooding throughout parts of the Susquehanna Valley. News’s Nicole Beltran gives us *** look in Leola, Lancaster County. Farmer Tyler Morton is no stranger to flooding. He lives off of Geist Road, and he constantly deals with the runoff after rainstorms. It has gotten significantly worse in the last 15 years. Crews responded to flooding in the area at around 6:30 p.m. and blocked off the road. This is typical along this area. Some areas along 23 that we have flooding when it rains that quickly. And the storm systems just can’t handle it. It’s not the only area that saw runoff. Crews also responded to flooding in West Main Street in Erida, where they rescued an elderly couple trapped in *** car and *** snapping turtle submerged in the water. But they had water literally up to the windows and going in their car. Morton says the ongoing flooding has hurt his crops, very frustrated because it just continues to get worse for not. Only the residents here, but the general public. After every storm, neighbors are vocal about the flooding and are hoping for *** solution soon. We as neighbors, landowners here, farm owners have tried to address some of these problems upstream. Crews also say it’s important people take the flooding more seriously. For God’s sake, don’t drive into the water because you really don’t know how deep it is or what’s floating down in there. Nicole Beltran reporting the storms not only causing flash flooding, but in West Cocalico Township, Lancaster County, one person was hurt after reports of *** tree crashing onto an RV. This happened around 5 last night at the Cocalico Creek Campground. One person was taken to the hospital and *** news viewer also sharing this damage from. The storms, *** tree fell onto his fence in Jackson Township, Lebanon County. Those storms didn’t stop people from coming out to the annual Washington Borough Tomato Festival. However, the summer tradition kicked off yesterday. There’s fresh produce, home baked goods, and of course the main event, locally sourced tomatoes. Oh, tons, tons to come out and enjoy the event. There’s tons of tomatoes and they taste wonderful still, the heat and the cold weather did not change the flavor, that’s for sure. The proceeds from the festival go to Blue Rock Fire Rescue and its fundraising efforts to build *** new firehouse in Manor Township, Lancaster County. The festival returns next Saturday. This morning, lawmakers are set to be back at the state Capitol as early as noon today as they continue to try and finalize *** state budget. The proposed $50.8 billion spending plan includes large increases in funding for education, but does not deal with major policy issues such as the legal fate of skill game machines. Or raising Pennsylvania’s minimum wage, State and House lawmakers on Saturday began moving several pieces of budget-related legislation into place with potential floor votes scheduled today. The budget is more than 11 days late. Lawmakers are hoping to avoid what happened last year when the budget was more than 130 days late. Breaking news overnight. It was in response to an Iranian attack in the Strait of Hormuz that reportedly set *** container ship on fire and forced its crew to abandon it. Now Tehran appears to be retaliating by targeting several Gulf Arab states. Washington correspondent Jackie Deusco has what’s behind the latest exchange of fire. US Central Command says that it is holding Iran accountable. For attacking another ship in the Strait of Hormuz over the weekend, CEO released this video on Saturday announcing that US forces hit 140 Iranian military targets, far more than the two rounds of strikes reported earlier in the week. The US insists that ships continue to travel through that crucial waterway even after Tehran said that the strait would be closed until further notice. Iran has sought to assert control over the strait and has targeted ships using what. It has described as unapproved routes. The future of that crucial oil shipping route has emerged as *** major sticking point in negotiations aimed at ending the war, *** feud that could very well cause another increase in fuel prices. The state average at the start of the war in Iran was $3.12. All of the Susquehanna Valley has averages below that number. The most expensive average gallons are in New York and Adams Counties. The cheapest average is in Mifflin County. Right now people in Dauphin County are asking for help searching for *** missing girl. Officers say Samara Anderson is 13. She was last seen around 5 last night near the Willow Garden apartments in High Spire. They say she was wearing *** black t-shirt, pink pajama pants, and *** cheetah print head wrap. In Lebanon County, *** fire damaged 3 businesses and an apartment. This happened on Horseshoe Pike in South Londonderry Township. When crews arrived there, they say the flames were on the roof near the courtyard. Crews say both residents of the apartment. Did get out and are now staying with family. The fire caused extensive damage to Leeds Bike Shop, Smith’s Brewing Company, and Ancestors Coffee House. Thankfully no one was hurt. The state police fire marshal is investigating the cause of that. In Dauphin County, Harrisburg police are investigating *** deadly stabbing. This happened just before 11 Friday night on Dairy Street. When officers arrived, they say they found the body of *** man with multiple stab wounds. *** concrete repair project is set to start tomorrow night on I-83 in Harrisburg. Pendot says this overnight work will close some of the lanes in both directions between exits 43 and 45 near the 13th Street overpass. Pendot says work is set for Monday and Tuesday from 9 at night to 6 in the morning.
