I-44: Two tractor trailers crash near Miami, one driver dead

OTTAWA COUNTY, Okla. (KOAM/KJFX) — About 2:30 a.m. early Sunday morning, July 12, 2026, reports of a serious commercial motor vehicle crash near Miami, Okla. on I-44/Will Rogers Turnpike closed traffic westbound.

Crash occurred about 315 MM (Miami is 313 MM). Oklahoma Highway Patrol report two tractor trailers were involved:

Alejandro Martinez, 53, of Indianapolis, Indiana died in the crash.Angel Ferrer-Delgado, 21, of Brandon, Florida was injured.

Missouri MoDOT closed I-44 westbound into at the state line upon request of Oklahoma authorities. It was reopened about 9 a.m. Sunday.
