LEE COUNTY, Fla. (WINK) — The Lee County Sheriff’s Office and the Florida Department of Transportation announced the return of ‘Operation Southern Slowdown’ on Monday.
Operation Sothern Slowdown is a collaboration between FDOT and LCSO to slow down dangerous drivers and raise awareness of the dangers of speeding.
LCSO emphasized the importance of slowing down and following the rules of the road, noting that excessive speed is among the leading causes of crashes and fatalities.
Operation Sothern Slowdown ends on Sunday.
