HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. — Tyrone Daley stands accused on Monday of sexually abusing his co-worker’s daughter for about three years in the employees’ only area of a supermarket in Broward County, records show.
The 12-year-old victim was diagnosed with “mild to moderate autism,” and the abuse “started when she was 10 years old, and she will be turning 13 this year,” a Hallandale Beach police officer wrote, according to a police report on Daley’s recent arrest.
Hallandale Beach police officers met with the girl’s mother on Feb. 16 at the Publix Supermarket at 1400 East Hallandale Beach, where she works with Daley, 56, according to a police officer’s report.
“She only brings the victim to work with her when she does not have a babysitter to watch her … the victim sits in the break room,” a police officer wrote, according to the arrest report.
The girl participated in a forensic interview at the Nancy J. Cotterman Center in Oakland Park, and she reported the abuse happened about 30 times, according to the police report.
“She always tells him ‘No!’ But he continues to keep touching her against her will … it hurt her … she felt threatened,” a police officer wrote about the girl’s report during the interview, according to the report.
