Young Thug used to get shit for warbling his way through hip-hop, but fingerprints of his signature delivery are now all over the genre.
After taking a five-year break from the road, and an appearance at Coachella last April, the 34-year-old Atlanta rapper is back to show off his Young Stoner Life record label.
“The New Generation Tour” kicks off in September and includes just one Florida stop, right here in Tampa.
A press release says Thugger—the main character in one of humankind’s all-time memes—is joined on the run by artists from the label including Tezzus, Diamond*, 1300saint, Iyrus, Yume, Biggs, and Unky.
The tour also comes less than two years after Thug, born Jeffery Lamar Williams II, pleaded out of a high-profile racketeering conspiracy case that landed him behind bars for two years. In January, a Georgia judge ruled King Slime should get cash, jewelry and numerous vehicles and guns back from the state officials that seized them.
Tickets to see Young Thug play Yuengling Center in Tampa on Wednesday, Sept. 23 are on sale to the public on Friday, July 17, with presales starting this Tuesday, July 14. Ticket prices have not yet been announced.
