Cape Coral man accused of dumping trash in holes at construction site
CAPE CORAL, Fla. —
A man was arrested in Cape Coral after neighbors reported him for digging holes and dumping trash at a construction site in northwest Cape Coral.
Cape Coral police arrested Eddy Soca after neighbors called to report his actions on the property of a house under construction.
Tracks in the dirt remain visible from where Soca was accused of using a Bobcat to dig holes and dump debris. A neighbor captured video showing Soca reportedly lifting debris from the site and dumping it into the holes.
Neighbors, who declined to appear on camera due to fears of retaliation, said Soca reportedly covered some of the trash before his arrest.
Residents also said trash and debris from the construction site frequently end up in their yards, especially during storms.
The site currently has a notice of violation from the city’s code compliance division. Gulf Coast News is working to contact the property owner.
Soca was arrested on a charge of dumping more than 500 pounds of litter on private property without a permit.
