The Coral Gables Community Foundation will host its 35th annual Gala, Friday evening, Oct. 16, honoring individuals and families from Coral Gables and beyond, celebrating their extraordinary contributions to the community.
“La Dolce Notte: Celebrating 35 Years,” is the foundation’s most important annual fundraiser. This time-honored gala marks a milestone anniversary with an elegant evening of fine dining and entertainment in support of the Coral Gables Community Foundation.
This year, the foundation pays tribute to extraordinary individuals:
Jorge Gonzalez, CEO of City National Bank of Florida, will receive the Community Legacy Award for his transformative leadership growing CNB into one of the nation’s top-performing banks and his lifelong commitment to South Florida — championing education, healthcare, the arts, and economic opportunity across the communities he calls home;
International reggae superstar and Grammy award winner Shaggy (Orville Richard Burrell) will be recognized with the Arts & Culture Legacy Award for his contributions to music and his humanitarian work through the Shaggy Make A Difference Foundation;
The Hon. Donna E. Shalala will be recognized with the Education Legacy Award for her transformative leadership at the University of Miami and decades of dedication to higher education;
Rudy and Lydia Touzet will receive the Philanthropy Legacy Award for their generous support of education, housing initiatives, and community development.
Event co-chairs Brian and Nicole Goldmeier, and Cozy and Jorge Salazar, both couples deeply committed to the Coral Gables community, are leading this year’s milestone celebration.
