A new surveillance video shows a New Jersey woman checking into a Miami Beach hotel not long before police said her son allegedly killed her and tossed her body in a trash chute.

The footage is one of multiple videos obtained by NBC6 on Tuesday that show the events surrounding the July 19 killing of Elizabeth Caruso.

Caruso had traveled to Miami Beach to visit her son, 40-year-old Anthony Caruso, who’s accused in her murder, police said.

One video shows Elizabeth Caruso in the lobby of a hotel across from the apartment building where her son lived and where her body was later found.

Another video shows Anthony Caruso near the elevator of his apartment building at 800 Washington Avenue.

A couple hours later, another video from the upper floor of the building shows a man looking into a garbage chute after police said the victim’s body had been dumped inside.

Miami Beach Police officials said when officers responded, they found blood smeared on the apartment door and hallway floors from the front of the apartment to the trash room.

Police said Anthony Caruso killed his mother, possibly with a knife, before stuffing her body in the trash chute of the building.

He then barricaded himself inside his apartment for hours before he was taken into custody.
