American Airlines debuts new flight from Miami to Venezuela – NBC 6 South Florida

American Airlines is adding a new nonstop flight between Miami International Airport (MIA) and Maracaibo, Venezuela on Tuesday.

The airline said the new route will be American Airlines’ second flight between the United States and Venezuela, “and serves as a critical connection point between the two countries — especially during this time of great need as Venezuela grapples with the aftermath of recent earthquakes that have caused widespread devastation, as well as the temporary suspension of flights to and from Caracas (CCS).”

The flight will operate daily and will be run by Envoy Air, a wholly owned subsidiary of American Airlines, using Embraer E-175 aircraft.

On April 30, American Airlines resumed direct flights to Venezuela with a daily nonstop flight between Miami and Caracas (Maiquetía).

The airline began operating in Venezuela in 1987 and had suspended service in 2019.
