Lumbre, the latest restaurant from local Michelin-starred group, opens in Tampa this week

A new modern Spanish concept from the folks that brought you Michelin-starred Rocca, Michelin-recognized Bar Terroir, and Michelin Bib Gourmand Streetlight Taco, is opening this week in the North Hyde Park area.

Lumbre, the latest concept from local hospitality group Tastes Pretty Good, will officially open its doors on Wednesday, July 15.

Located in the Rome Collective development, at 220 N Rome Ave., the new Spanish restaurant will be led by Executive Chef and Co-Founder Nick Orr, who previously helmed the kitchen at Rocca.

“Nick Orr was my first hire and he’s been core to Rocca’s success ever since,” says Bryce Bonsack, Culinary Director at Tastes Pretty Good, in a statement. “He’s earned this opportunity through years of consistency, leadership, and craft. Lumbre is his moment to step forward and continue our team’s work to shape Tampa’s reputation as one of Florida’s most compelling dining destinations.”

Lumbre’s menu is broken down into four sections: cheese and charcuterie, bocados, entrantes (starters), and platos principales (large format), and spans everything from “wood-fired grilling, traditional paella, tapas featuring seafood and imported cheeses & hams and a full bar with Spanish wines and cider, and a fresh sangria to start the meal,” says the press release.

Earlier this week, Tastes Pretty Good announced the coming of its next concept, Rippers, a new American-style restaurant moving into Clearwater’s historic Telephone Building on Cleveland Street.

Lumbre will be open Sundays through Thursdays, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., and Fridays through Saturdays from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Reservations are currently available.
