Two men were arrested after the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office seized about 215,000 lethal doses of fentanyl during a drug bust.
On Friday, July 10, JSO says it executed search warrants after a months-long investigation into two individuals: 49-year-old Alejandro Villasana and 36-year-old Javaris Williams.
The first warrant, served at Williams’ apartment on N. Main Street, found four kilograms of Fentanyl, a “sum” of Molly/MDMA, and multiple scales. A firearm was also seized from Williams’ apartment, according to JSO.
Williams is charged with trafficking in dangerous fentanyl or fentanyl analogues, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a controlled substance.
The second warrant, served on Villasana’s rental vehicle, said officers found “a large sum” of money, also known as a drug band. According to JSO’s investigation, Villasana had flown to the First Coast from Chicago to deliver the drugs.

Two other search warrants were executed on the same day, one for Williams’ vehicle and the other for Villasana’s hotel room; however, the agency says that no evidence related to the bust was found.
“This is a significant win in our fight against Fentanyl,” JSO says. “The amount seized in this bust could kill everyone in our downtown ballpark and arena… eight times. It’s almost a quarter of a million deadly doses removed from our streets.”
