TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A stalled front is still located north of Tampa Bay, helping to enhance cloud cover.

A few showers and storms are possible this morning in Citrus, Hernando, and Pasco counties. Rain chances will increase this afternoon, with scattered storms possible along and south of I-4, mainly inland.

Temperatures will be in the low to mid-90s this afternoon with more clouds than sun at times. It will still be humid, especially along the coast.

Rain chances will come down slightly on Wednesday and Thursday, but spotty storms are still likely each day.

Chances will increase into the weekend and next week as the front sinks south into the Gulf. Enhanced moisture could organize along the boundary, and a few forecast models develop a weak area of low pressure.

There is a lot of uncertainty surrounding the details of this weekend’s setup. The National Hurricane Center has not highlighted this for possible development as of Tuesday morning.

Depending on whether and where this moisture sets up and organizes, rain chances across will either increase or decrease. If the moisture organizes in the central Gulf, the Tampa Bay area would be a little drier, but if it organizes a little closer to the peninsula, rain chances would increase.
