TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – More than 100 people gathered to remember the life of a 17-year-old killed in a crash that happened Monday afternoon.
Family members of Kaleb Edouard were moved to see so many people come to pay respects at the site of the wreck.
“He was a star athlete at Godby. This was his senior year. It was 9 months until his birthday. He was almost 18. He had just bought his first car. He was just taking his friends riding. They was going to play basketball. And such a tragedy, just wear your seatbelts. Seatbelts save lives,” said his mother, Terra Edouard.
Edouard played travel basketball and his coach came with teammates to support the family Tuesday night.
Loved ones prayed with one another, locked arms, released balloons, and lit candles.
“He is a very special person to a lot of the people that they love his energy. They think he is a wonderful guy,” said coach Marvin Jefferson.
The crash occurred at West Tennessee and High Road. Tallahassee Police continue to investigate what happened.
