Two Eastern Carolina communities will have a chance to support Special Olympics North Carolina during separate Texas Roadhouse fundraisers this week.
Both events are scheduled for Thursday, July 16, from 5 to 9 p.m.
In Greenville, the Greenville Police Department is partnering with the Texas Roadhouse location in Greenville to raise money for Special Olympics North Carolina.
Customers there can support the fundraiser by bringing the event flyer or mentioning Special Olympics NC to their server.
A separate Tip-A-Cop fundraiser will also be held at the Texas Roadhouse in Jacksonville.

The Onslow County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with the Jacksonville location for that event. Deputies and Law Enforcement Torch Run officers will help collect donations for Special Olympics North Carolina.
According to the event flyer, Special Olympics North Carolina provides year-round sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
Organizers say a 10% donation will be added to the overall fundraising total for anyone who brings the flyer, shares a social media post or tells their server they are there to support Special Olympics North Carolina.
People who cannot attend can still donate through the QR code included on the event flyer.
Organizers say donations will help support Special Olympics athletes in local communities.
