ORLANDO, Fla. – Get ready for a stretch of warmer weather in Central Florida as highs rebound into the 80s before the coldest air of the season arrives next week.
WEDNESDAY
Expect mostly dry and warm conditions as high pressure continues to settle over Florida. Skies will be partly cloudy and temperatures will climb into the low 80s in the afternoon.
Overnight, expect lows in the upper 50s to low 60s up north and the mid- to upper 60s to the south.
Even though it will be a beautiful day, beaches remain dangerous as a high risk of rip currents remains in place.
THURDSAY-SATURDAY
The warm stretch continues through the end of the week, with a slow rise in humidity. High pressure over the region will weaken as a weather system develops over the Midwest and great lakes, bringing a cold front closer to the Deep South by the weekend.
Afternoon highs will reach the low 80s Thursday and Friday, warming to the mid-80s Saturday. Nights will stay mild in the 60s.
SUNDAY-NEXT WEEK
A strong cold front is on the way late Sunday into Monday. Ahead of it, winds will shift from the southwest to the northwest, then turn northerly behind the front on Monday and stay breezy through Tuesday.
Expect an increase in clouds and a 20% chance of rain Sunday into Monday.
Temperatures will stay above normal Sunday, with highs in the low to mid-80s, then drop noticeably behind the front. Highs are forecast to fall to the 70s Monday and into the 60s Tuesday.
Overnight lows will dip into the 30s and 40s by early Tuesday morning, with wind chills dropping even further.
