TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Washington, D.C., is once again considering making daylight saving time permanent. This time, they are one step closer as the House passed the “Sunshine Protection Act” on Tuesday.
Each November, the clocks “fall back”, returning to standard time. This puts sunrise around 7:16 a.m. for Tallahassee and sunset at 5:35 p.m.
The law, if passed, would keep us from going back to standard time, so our new sunrise time in December would be closer to 8:30 a.m., and the sun would stay out until 6:35 p.m.
Here are the sunrise and sunset times for Tallahassee with daylight saving time and standard time, and the proposed sunrise and sunset if we stay on daylight saving time.
In Tallahassee, the earliest sunset would be 6:35 p.m. in early December and the latest sunrise would be 8:35 a.m. in early January, according to time and date.
