ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. (WNDU) – One person is dead after a two-vehicle head-on crash Wednesday evening in southeastern St. Joseph County.
St. Joseph County police said officers were called just before 5:30 p.m. to the 68000 block of Miami Highway.
According to investigators, the driver of a Volkswagen Jetta was heading north on Miami Highway when the car came to a curve and crossed the center line, hitting a southbound Ford F-150 head-on.
The driver of the Jetta died at the scene. Police have not yet identified that person.
The driver of the F-150 was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Due to the severity of the crash, the St. Joseph County Fatal Crash Team was called to the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
