Court Street in downtown Jacksonville is scheduled to reopen to traffic Thursday after being closed for construction.

According to the City of Jacksonville, the roadway will reopen at 10:00 a.m. on July 16, restoring access through one of the city’s historic downtown corridors.

City officials are also reminding drivers about a new traffic pattern at the intersection of New Bridge Street and Court Street.

The former free-flow right turn onto Court Street has been replaced with a stop-controlled intersection. Motorists traveling on New Bridge Street must now come to a complete stop before turning onto Court Street and may turn either left or right when it is safe to do so, according to the City of Jacksonville.

The city is asking drivers to use caution and follow the new traffic controls as motorists adjust to the updated intersection.
