The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp returned to VyStar Ballpark July 7-12 to take on the Durham Bulls.
Jacksonville’s six game homestand turned into five games as the game on Saturday, July 11, was canceled due to inclement weather. Fans who purchased tickets for this game can exchange them for any 2026 regular season home game.
The Bulls got the opening win on Tuesday, July 7, with a final score of 9-8 and went on to win the series 4-1.
Jacksonville was able to get the win on Wednesday, July 8, with a final score of 12-2. The Jumbo Shrimp scored runs in five consecutive innings in Wednesday’s contest and had four home runs in the game. Those homers came courtesy of Deyvison De Los Santos, Matthew Etzel, Kemp Alderman and Rece Hinds.
More than 5,000 fans were in attendance on Friday, July 10, to witness a near comeback by the Jumbo Shrimp. Durham got on the board first in the second inning, and the Jumbo Shrimp could not find an answer until the fourth inning. Andrew Pintar, Kemp Alderman and Graham Pauley all scored in the fourth to make the score 5-3 and bring Jacksonville within 2.
Connor Norby and Jacob Berry hit home runs in the sixth to help push the score to 7-7 entering the seventh inning. The last three innings of Friday’s game were a back and forth battle, but the Bulls got the victory with a final score of 10-9.
On Sunday, July 12, the Jumbo Shrimp were defeated 5-4 in a game that was shortened to eight innings due to weather.
Jacksonville has now entered the second half of their season as they continue to defend their 2025 Triple-A National Championship title.
“The team continues to play strong baseball and fight,” said Jumbo Shrimp president and general manager Matt Goudreau.
