LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. (WINK)— A wanted suspect barricaded themselves inside a vehicle after crashing into a ditch, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
LCSO said deputies were actively searching for the suspect when the crash occurred in a wooded area near Ridgemont Drive and Welby Lane. The suspect then allegedly barricaded themselves inside the vehicle before being safely taken into custody.

No further details about the suspect’s identity or the charges they face have been released.
LCSO said there is no threat to the public and more information will be released later Thursday morning.
