MIAMI — The Miami Heat will officially introduce its two biggest offseason additions Thursday at Kaseya Center, with Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bobby Portis each scheduled to hold introductory news conferences.
Portis’ introductory news conference is scheduled for 12:30 p.m., followed by Antetokounmpo’s at 3 p.m.
Antetokounmpo arrives in Miami after 13 seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks, where he established himself as one of the NBA’s most accomplished players.
The 31-year-old is a two-time NBA Most Valuable Player, an NBA champion, an NBA Finals MVP, a nine-time All-Star and a nine-time All-NBA selection. He also won the league’s Defensive Player of the Year award in 2020 and is the Bucks’ all-time leader in points, rebounds, assists and blocks.
Last season, Antetokounmpo averaged 29.8 points, 11.9 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game while earning another All-NBA First Team selection. His arrival in Miami came as part of one of the NBA’s biggest blockbuster trades of the offseason.
Portis, 31, reunites with Antetokounmpo after spending the past seven seasons with the Bucks.
The veteran forward is entering his 12th NBA season after averaging 13.7 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game while shooting 48.8% from the field and 45.6% from 3-point range on 4.4 attempts per game last season.
The Heat is the fifth team of Portis’ NBA career. He previously played for the Chicago Bulls, Washington Wizards, New York Knicks and Bucks.
The introductions come as Miami continues to reshape its roster following an active offseason centered around acquiring Antetokounmpo, a move that immediately elevated expectations for the franchise entering the 2026-27 campaign.
