Fort Pierce police arrested a school employee on July 14 for committing indecent acts in front of two sisters, aged 14 and 11. Handy Whitehead, 46, of Fort Pierce, was charged with two counts of lewd and lascivious behavior-exhibition in the presence of persons less than 16 years of age and two counts of exposure of sexual organs. The St. Lucie County School District confirmed on Thursday that Whitehead is employed as a groundskeeper in its maintenance department. He is not assigned to a specific school campus. In a statement, the school district said, “Mr. Whitehead was placed on Temporary Duty Assignment (TDA) pending the outcome of the investigation and any related proceedings. Because this is an ongoing personnel and legal matter, the District is unable to provide additional details at this time. Handy Whitehead, 46, of Fort Pierce, was charged with two counts of lewd and lascivious behavior-exhibition in the presence of persons less than 16 years of age and two counts of exposure of sexual organs.
The St. Lucie County School District confirmed on Thursday that Whitehead is employed as a groundskeeper in its maintenance department. He is not assigned to a specific school campus.
