Bernard Taylor has spent much of his career running toward emergencies when others were running away. As an EMT and firefighter in Palm Beach County, Taylor has built a career centered on helping people, responding with skill, compassion, and steady leadership.
Now, he is bringing that same commitment to public service as he campaigns for a seat representing Florida’s 21st Congressional District.
The husband, father, and healthcare advocate says his decision to enter politics comes from years of seeing firsthand how policies in Washington impact families, seniors, veterans, and working Americans across the Treasure Coast.
Taylor’s campaign focuses on issues affecting residents throughout St. Lucie, Martin, and northern Palm Beach counties, including rising insurance premiums, healthcare costs, housing affordability, and protecting retirement security. He says his experience in emergency services gives him a unique understanding of the challenges facing people when they need help most.
“Being a first responder teaches you that every second matters, every decision has consequences, and every person deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. That’s the kind of practical, people-first leadership I’ll bring to Washington, Taylor reveals.”
Florida’s 21st Congressional District is home to nearly 859,000 residents and includes communities with some of the state’s largest senior populations. For many voters, concerns about Medicare, prescription drug prices, Social Security, affordability, and access to quality healthcare remain top priorities.
Taylor says his approach is rooted in finding solutions rather than focusing on division. He has also pointed to infrastructure, responsible growth, and community impact as key issues facing the region, including discussions surrounding proposed data centers and future development.
Taylor has racked up endorsements from organizations such as the American Small Business League and the Democratic Progressive Caucus of Florida, with more key endorsements on the way.
While FL-21 has historically leaned Republican and is currently represented by Congressman Brian Mast, Taylor believes voters are looking for leadership that reflects their everyday concerns.
