PORT ST. LUCIE — The Port St. Lucie Sunset Rotary Club installed its 2026-27 executive board during its annual installation ceremony while celebrating a year of community service that included literacy initiatives, scholarships, food drives and fundraising efforts.
Matthew Billitti was installed as president. Other officers include Jennifer Penning, president-elect and program chair; Patricia Christensen, treasurer; Linda Thayer, secretary, membership chair and Rotary International Foundation chair; Audrey Sinan, sergeant at arms; and Jeannette Weiss, club image chair and vice president. Immediate Past District Governor Julia Babbitt conducted the installations.
The club also welcomed three new members: Colleen Korpon, Sarah DiMatteo and Kim Penning.
“I’m honored to serve as president of the Port St. Lucie Sunset Rotary Club. My goal is simple: bring great people together, serve with purpose, and create lasting change in the community we proudly call home,” Billitti said.
Immediate Past President Terry Smith recognized the club’s accomplishments during the past year. Members raised $6,000 in grants and sponsorships for Constitution Books and delivered 2,000 copies to seventh-grade civics students at eight schools. They also collected 1,000 jars of peanut butter and 450 boxes of macaroni and cheese for Grace Packs, which serves food-insecure children.
The club hosted eight monthly social events and raised $9,000 through five fundraisers, including two dine-to-donate events, two tastings and a raffle.

Members also awarded two scholarships to students attending Indian River State College, sent one student to Rotary Youth Leadership Academy, adopted Rotary Park for monthly cleanups, organized a blanket drive for people experiencing homelessness and conducted a holiday toy drive for local children.
Additional club members include Sam Bourgeois, Marguerite L. Jean Louis, Past President Paul Smith, Adrianne Waters, Director Dale Weiss and longtime visiting Rotarian Leo Ladefian.
The Port St. Lucie Sunset Rotary Club is part of Rotary International and supports local, national and international service projects, including educational initiatives, clean water efforts and polio eradication programs.
The club meets from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on the third and fourth Tuesdays of each month at The Lakeview Bar & Grille, 951 SW Country Club Drive, Port St. Lucie. Members also gather socially from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month at various locations throughout the city.
