A pregnant woman experiencing complications was medically evacuated Thursday from a Carnival cruise ship off the coast of Miami, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.

The Coast Guard said a Station Miami Beach crew responded to a Carnival cruise ship about 4 miles northeast of Government Cut.

The vessel appears to be the Carnival Sunrise, based on photos released by the agency, and crews safely transferred the woman from the ship.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue then transported her to a local hospital for further treatment, authorities said.

Her condition was not immediately available.
