TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Tallahassee is starting construction on a traffic signal upgrade on Monday at two local, busy intersections.
The construction will be at the intersection of MLK Jr. Boulevard and Tharpe Street and the other on MLK Jr. Boulevard and Northwood Boulevard.
Crews are modernizing the intersections, including new mast-arm signals and updated sidewalks and crosswalks. Most work is expected to wrap up before school starts in mid-August.

They’ll be rotating single-lane closures at Tharpe and MLK from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.
The intersection at Northwood and MLK will be completely closed during the same hours, with detours using North Monroe and West Tharpe.
