Welcome back. We are committed to finding forever homes for every shelter pet in Central Florida, and in this week’s rush to the rescue, we’re excited to welcome our friends from Orange County Animal Services. Brian Almida is back, and today we’ve got *** beautiful girl here, Mona. Mona, Brian, tell us *** little bit about her. What do we know? Mona’s very sweet, very affectionate. She’s 4 years old, approximately, and she was found wandering loose around *** parking lot, so it’s obvious she was, uh, possibly dumped there, which is heartbreaking. Yeah. And when was she found, you said? It was *** couple of months ago, yeah. And how has she been so far? She’s actually *** fantastic dog. She’s one of our helper dogs, so that means, uh, for playgroups or for when *** dog comes in that’s *** little fearful, *** little more nervous, since she’s so sweet and friendly, we use her to, uh, basically get the other dog *** little more comfortable. OK, so Mona’s clearly dog friendly. How does she do with kids, cats? We don’t know how she does with kids. We haven’t seen her or cats, but we have seen her with *** bunch of other people. Uh, she’s had some interactions and she’s done fantastic. She’s *** little. Drooly, but other than that, that’s the breed of the dogs too, right? Exactly. I mean, most bully breeds are, and she’s also very healthy, as you can tell she’s very, very muscular. Yes, how much does she weigh? She’s about 55 pounds. OK, so she is *** beast. OK. And Brian, we were just talking. We know the summer is usually *** busy season for you guys. Yes it is, but you guys have *** couple of different things that are going on that to help facilitate some fostering or adoption, we do. Our adoption prices are normally $80 but for the entire summer we’ve lowered them to $20. for all animals and right now we have *** summer camp promotion and basically we’re encouraging people to come to the shelter and temporarily adopt *** dog for *** couple of weeks just to get him out of the shelter, you know, have *** little fun with them, get them used to the home life, and, and hopefully have some foster failures, fall in love with the pup, take them home permanently, kind of. If after those two weeks are done, they’re in love with the dog, then you could keep it for free, 100%. What if somebody has no experience with dogs? They don’t have the necessary stuff. We are there to help them. We can help out with food and leashes, things like that. OK, so Moda right here, been with you guys for *** couple of months. I think she’s 4 years old, so energy levels still kind of high. She’s actually very calm. She’s curious and she’s very confident, which is *** good thing. She actually looks scary *** lot. I’ve seen *** lot of people, you know, kind of back away from her, but she is an absolute angel. Yeah, she’s super sweet. How is she on the drive? Good in the car? She’s very good in the car, yeah, very calm, very easygoing. All right, and no any commands yet. I don’t know. Let’s see. Sit. Oh, let’s discover right here, right now. Mona, can you sit and see if you can do it. Yeah, no, she’s not gonna do it. All right, well, it’s your job to teach her. She’s just gonna learn really fast. She’s in training. She’ll do great.
