Major crash closes Florida’s Turnpike southbound in Winter Garden
Yeah, we saw that shutdown along Florida’s Turnpike here. It looks like they’ve started to reopen that right lane though. This is traveling through Winter Gardens, so heading towards State Road 50. All the lanes have been shut down here for about 15 minutes or so. Looks like *** crash with some pretty significant injuries, but the right lane did just reopen as we were coming on the air here, so. If you are traveling southbound through Winter Garden, you always have the option to exit at Hancock Road, but now that some of those lanes have started to reopen, I would just stay on the turnpike. But do be prepared for *** lot of traffic here traveling through Lake County heading into Orange County for that morning drive. I zoomed out the map there. You can see the exit is along Hancock Road, but. You don’t have to take that anymore now that they’ve started to reopen some of those lanes over in the Waterford Lakes, we have *** crash State Road 408 eastbound at Rouse Road. This one’s been working to clear for some time, so delays there. The right lane is closed, and looking at those travel times they are building along the turnpike southbound from US 27 to Colonial Drive. Those delays right now are 32 minutes.

A major crash temporarily shut down all of the southbound lanes of Florida’s Turnpike in Winter Garden at SR-50.According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened just after 5:30 on Friday morning.All of the southbound lanes were shut down before SR-50 but have since reopened. Troopers say people were injured in the crash.

A major crash temporarily shut down all of the southbound lanes of Florida’s Turnpike in Winter Garden at SR-50.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened just after 5:30 on Friday morning.
All of the southbound lanes were shut down before SR-50 but have since reopened.
Troopers say people were injured in the crash.
