Orlando defeated Boston, 103-97, on July 18 in the NBA Summer League at Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Former Tennessee basketball player Keon Johnson started and played 11 minutes for the Magic. He totaled seven points, three rebounds, two steals and one assist. Johnson converted 2-of-4 field goal attempts, 1-of-2 three-point attempts and 1-of-1 two-point free throw attempts.

Malik Reneau recorded 19 points for Orlando to lead all scorers. Au’Diese Toney scored 18 points and Will Baker finished with 15 points for the Magic. Caleb Grill led the Celtics with 18 points.

Johnson was selected in the first round of the 2021 NBA draft by the Knicks. He was traded to the Clippers in exchange for a No. 25 overall pick.

Johnson played at Tennessee for one season. In 2021, the Shelbyville, Tennessee native was selected to the Southeastern Conference All-Freshman Team.

He averaged 11.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.1 steals per game for Tennessee during the 2020-21 campaign.

In high school, he was a two-time Tennessee Mr. Basketball recipient for Webb School in Bell Buckle, Tennessee.
