PORT ST. LUCIE – Two men were killed on July 19 in a double shooting which occurred at about 3:30 a.m., outside a home in the 1300 block of Southeast Rivergreen Circle, Port St. Lucie, according to Port St. Lucie Police reports.
Officers responded to the address to find two men suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the driveway of a residence.
The men were taken to two separate and local hospitals, where each died of their injuries, according to police reports.
Police later identified the men as Carl Loubeau, 24, and Juliun Stokes, 22.
Preliminary investigation indicates some of the individuals involved were socializing earlier in the evening before returning to a residence on Southeast Rivergreen Circle. A verbal altercation occurred outside the home over the residential key and entering the home which escalated into an exchange of gunfire between two of the individuals involved, according to police reports.
It appears this is an isolated incident involving individuals who were known to one another, and there is no ongoing threat to the public, police said in a press release.
All parties involved are either detained and cooperating with the investigation or accounted for.
The investigation remains active, fluid, and ongoing as detectives continue conducting interviews, processing evidence, and reviewing all available information.
More details, including any potential criminal charges, will be released as the investigation progresses and facts are confirmed, according to police reports.
