Cape Coral police officer and driver involved in serious crash

CAPE CORAL, Fla. —

A Cape Coral police officer and another driver were hurt in a serious car crash Sunday night, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened around 10 p.m. at the intersection of Santa Barbara Boulevard and Veterans Parkway in Cape Coral.

Images from the scene show severe damage to the front of the police car and damage to another vehicle.

Florida Highway Patrol has been contacted with questions about what led to the crash.
