A motorcyclist rear-ended a tractor-trailer and died early Saturday in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The crash occurred around 2 a.m. on Taft Vineland Road, approaching Sidney Hayes Road, troopers said. According to an FHP crash report, a 27-year-old Kissimmee man was riding a motorcycle eastbound on Taft Vineland Road and failed to slow down for a tractor-trailer ahead of him, rear-ending it as a result. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said. The 33-year-old St. Johns man driving the tractor-trailer was not hospitalized and remained at the scene, according to FHP. Troopers believe the motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet during the crash. FHP is still investigating.
