  • July 20, 2026

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The Tallahassee Fire Department responded to a house fire in eastern Leon County on Sunday.

According to TFD, crews arrived to the scene on Pembroke Court around 5:15 p.m. When they arrived, there was smoke coming from a single-story home.

The homeowner was outside trying to put out the fire when crews arrived. No one was injured as a result of the fire, TFD said.

TFD said the fire started near the rear of the home and extended into the attic.

The fire department said many residential fires start outside the house before spreading to the structure. They are encouraging everyone to properly dispose of smoking materials, keep combustible debris away from buildings and stay alert for any signs of smoke or fire after spending time outdoors.
