Wright’s Gourmet House Credit: Wright’s Gourmet House
Two years have passed since longtime South Tampa favorite Wright’s Gourmet House was sold to the Caspers Company, and now the iconic sandwich shop and bakery will bring its popular sandwiches and sheet cakes to the suburbs.
According to the Tampa Bay Business Journal, Wrights will open two new 15,000-square-foot locations—one at 328 Brandon Town Center Drive in Brandon and the other at Wiregrass Ranch on State Road 56 in Wesley Chapel.
Both outposts will include cafes, catering facilities, a market and more.
No exact opening dates were announced, but the Brandon location will debut in summer 2027, while the Wesley Chapel spot has a rough target date of 2028, says TBBJ.
Earlier this year, the Casper Co., which is led by former city council candidate and local McDonald’s tycoon Blake Casper and his sister Allison Casper Adams, opened a satellite Wright’s café at Tampa General Hospital Davis Islands campus.
Besides Wrights, the Casper Co. also operates Tampa’s Oxford Exchange, Casa Cami, Mad Dogs and Englishmen, Predalina, The Current hotel, and The Stovall House under its Oxford Commons brand.
The company purchased the original Wrights location at 1200 S Dale Mabry Hwy. in 2024. Two years prior, the Caspers sold off dozens of family–owned McDonald’s franchises, which they offloaded for an undisclosed amount.
