Miami drivers are paying more at the pump for the second consecutive week, with the average price of regular gasoline rising 9.1 cents per gallon over the past week.
According to GasBuddy’s survey of 1,690 stations in Miami, the average price of regular gasoline now stands at $3.96 per gallon. Prices are 24.1 cents higher than a month ago and 88.9 cents higher than they were a year ago.
GasBuddy reported the cheapest station in Miami was selling regular gasoline for $3.43 per gallon on Sunday. On Key Biscayne, however, both gas stations continued to charge $5.49 per gallon for regular gasoline, keeping the Island among the most expensive places to fill up in Miami-Dade.
Nationally, the average price of gasoline jumped 13.0 cents per gallon over the last week, averaging $3.95 per gallon.
“Average gasoline and diesel prices rose in nearly every state for the second straight week, with the national average price of gasoline likely to reach $4 per gallon within the next 48 hours and diesel already back above $5 per gallon nationally,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.
