Largo Central Park’s playground is getting some massive upgrades this fall. Largo Parks & Rec announced that the popular playground will close on August 11 as it undergoes a sprawling, all-ages renovation that will transform the destination and make it a draw for families all over.
Renderings of the new Largo Central Park Playground show an expansive area with several new features, such as a jungle gym that looks like an actual jungle. Renderings show large play areas, rope swings, slides, teeter-totters, and much, much more. The new space will also have wheelchair accessible areas, creating an inclusive play environment for all.

The playground will also feature a brand new Ninja Course, inspired by American Ninja Warrior. This 91-foot course includes obstacles, a rock wall, and a fan-favorite warped wall.
While the playground itself will be closed during construction, the rest of Largo Central Park will remain open. Largo Central Park is one of Florida’s gems. This 28-acre destination is home to beautiful, shaded walks and year-round events. Plus, it is right next to the Largo Central Park Nature Reserve, which is home to more than 130 species of birds and other wildlife such as foxes, otters, and alligators.
“The improvements will help enhance one of Largo’s most popular family destinations,” the City of Largo Recreation posted on Facebook. “Largo Central Park is enjoyed by more than one million people each year and hosts dozens of major events and celebrations.”
