Disney World has been seeing a lot of construction over the course of the year, and while the parks have been seeing a lot of change, there has been a lot going on outside of the parks as well.
Construction at Lakeshore Lodge
One thing in particular that we are very excited about is a new resort. Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge is being built on Bay Lake next to Disney’s Fort Wilderness, and we’ve been following along with its construction progress for a while. Well, we have some more updates to show you!
Lakeshore Lodge is said to immerse guests in nature and wildlife, and you can see that in all the designs in the concept art. The resort will feature several pools, a splash pad, and a lazy river.

Thanks to @bioreconstruct via X, we have a completely new look at the new resort on the way. We’ve seen the resort and its construction from the ground, but now we have some new aerial shots.

The pool area will have a lazy river and water slide, themed to Disney’s animated classic Pocahontas. Disney describes The Wetlands as “a sweeping outdoor recreation area just beyond the lobby that’s surrounded by the beauty of Bay Lake.”

There are going to be three areas at The Wetlands. The Heron Shores will have exploration and hands‑on play with climbing features. The Otter Springs will offer interactive water features where little ones will be able to cool off as they splash and slide. Then, the lazy Daydream River will have guests sitting back and relaxing as the current carries them through the recreation area, offering views of the surrounding landscape.

Disney said the Lakeside Lagoon will be the heart of The Wetlands. That’s where you’ll find the resort’s zero‑entry feature pool, complete with a spiral waterslide. On the opposite side of the resort, you’ll find the Perspective Pond, which will be home to a leisure pool and whirlpool spa. It’ll be a great spot for views of the Magic Kingdom fireworks in the evenings.
