TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A registered sex offender was sentenced in federal court for more sex crimes, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Dawaun Jackson, 40, of Tallahassee was sentenced to 20 years for one count attempted enticement of a minor and one count of penalties for registered sex offenders.
Jackson was arrested as part of ‘Operation Safe Harvest,’ which was aimed at identifying and arresting those who use the internet to target children. He pleaded guilty in May.

Court documents show that, during the operation, an officer poses as a 15-year-old girl and posted an ad online. Jackson responded to the add and offered money in exchange for sex, believing he was talking to a minor.
Further investigation revealed Jackson was a registered sex offender, according to court documents.
Following the 20 year prison sentence, Jackson will have to serve a lifetime term of supervised release and continue registering as a sexual offender.
