POMPANO BEACH, Fla. — A portion of the southbound lanes of U.S. 1 in Pompano Beach were shut down Tuesday afternoon as the Broward Sheriff’s Office investigated a crash.
The closure impacted U.S. 1 between Southeast Ninth Street and 12th Street, according to BSO officials.
Sky 10 flew over a damaged white vehicle and a yellow tarp at the scene that appeared to be covering a person.
Authorities have not released additional details about the victim or whether anyone else was injured in the crash.
Deputies urged drivers to avoid the area while the investigation continued.
