SALINAS, Calif. (KLTV) — Jacksonville team roper Jayse Tettenhorst hit pay dirt at one of the premier PRCA rodeos last week.
Tettenhorst scored a 6.9 in the second round at California Rodeo Salinas, good enough for first place in the round and a $3,181 paycheck.
Other East Texans who won paychecks at Salinas were steer wrestler Holden Myers of Van, who finished fifth in the first round for a $2,155 check, and tie-down roper Cutter Carpenter of Athens, who finished sixth in the first round for a $1,904 check.
At Kansas Largest Night Rodeo, team roper Boogie Ray of Mabank won $2,094 for finishing third in the first round, sixth in the second round and third in the average. Kash Martin of Lufkin finished in a tie for seventh in the bareback riding for a $212 check.
Martin also finished in second place at Canterbury Park Rodeo for a $2,021 check.
In Mesquite, Derric Alvey of Lindale finished in fourth place in team roping for $229.
