TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Tampa police officers reunited a mother and daughter after the child was locked inside a car at a gas station.
In body camera video released Tuesday, the Tampa Police Department responded to a gas station after a mom reported that she accidentally locked her keys inside her car with her child still inside.
The woman called 911 immediately and stayed with her child while waiting for officers to arrive.

“How long has she been in there?” an officer asked the mom. “Not … As soon as we called you guys,” she said.
“I’ve heard parents talk about this, like, this is, like my biggest nightmare,” the woman told officers.
Shortly after, the video showed officers pop the SUV’s door open.
Tampa police said parents should call 911 immediately, stay with their child, create shade if possible, and watch for signs of heat-related illness if a similar situation occurs.
“A quick call and a calm response can make all the difference,” Tampa police said in a Facebook post.
