Feed-A-Palooza returns bringing free health and wellness resources, family fun to Lake Eola

One Heart for Women and Children, in partnership with AdventHealth, is hosting the Feed-A-Palooza Community Health & Resource Fair Saturday, July 25, offering free community resources, family activities, and more.

Ending hunger, building community, and empowering hope, those are three acts that make up the mission behind *** free event returning to Central Florida this weekend. One Heart for Women and Children will host Feedapalooza. It’s *** community health and resource fair all in partnership with Advent Health. And joining me now to tell us all. All about it. Founder and visionary of One Heart Stephanie Bowman. Stephanie, it’s so good to see you again. So good to see you too. Thank you for having me. Yeah, we’ve just come by and seen you at One Heart. We featured them as *** West 2 community champion. Love putting the work that you’re doing in the spotlight. You, you just had *** truck plow through the front door of the building. Remember that? I do. 4 of us were sent to the hospital. Yes, but you came out. Everybody has healed. Everybody’s doing great. The front doors repaired. I love it. The community came together so quickly to help make all that happen, and it’s onward and up for one heart. Let’s talk about this big event that’s happening here. You partnered with AdventHealth and so many other for the community. What, what, what? Is this Fedapalooza Fedapalooza, and I love the name of it. So we started it at the beginning of the pandemic. We started it, and it was really about getting as much fresh food into the cars that they so they could take it home when so many people didn’t have access to food. So it has evolved, and this year it’s very, very different. This year it’s not. About filling the trunks with with food now it is more it’s *** health and resource fair, so it is uh the feeding now is not about the food, it’s about feeding the mind, body and soul. So it is *** health and wellness fair this year where we have over 40 vendors. People will be able to get diabetes testing. There’s other um. Uh, there’s other wellness opportunities to be able for some testing, but also we have some really amazing partners that will be there just sharing resources whether it’s people, people wanting to help with resumes or, or finding jobs. We’ve got some, we’ve got some cool things, *** lot of fun for. Kids also, we’ve got, yeah, what’s there for the little ones? 1/4 of the space that we’re going to be in is, um, is all arts and crafts, games and arts and crafts, and it will be good for the family as *** whole as well. Yeah, I, I think back to when mine were little is anywhere they plunked down and there were arts and crafts. If you’re at an art fest or you’re somewhere like I couldn’t get them away. So this will be good for the moms and dads, yeah, and it’s literally right in the middle of all the space, so it’s going to be really beautiful if somebody, you know, is at *** vendor. Their children are like right next to them. So, oh good, yeah, it’s keeping them occupied, keeping them occupied. That’s it. And tell me, Stephanie, why do you feel these resources are so needed in our community? So what we hear so often at 10, we help over 20,000 people each month with food and other resources, and what we hear often when people come to us the very first time is there’s not enough resources in the community for jobs, for for some free testings if they don’t have insurance, what do they do? And this time what we’ve been able to do is we’ve been able to get *** lot of amazing. Community partners in together so anybody in the community can come out if they’re looking for *** job if they want to know more about some of our other partners, they can do the same thing and the work of One Heart and Advent really kind of combines. You have *** very similar mission we do and it’s really, it’s, it’s like *** whole hub wellness. We want to be able to help feed the body so that people can think differently. and and work differently. Yeah, we love that. OK, so tell us, where do we need to be to take part in Feedapalooza? OK, so we will be at Lake Eola between 10 and 2 o’clock. It is *** free event for anybody that comes out. Also with that, we do have food out there, so it’s not food going home in the trunks, although Trader Joe’s and Sprouts and we’ve got some other community partners that’ll be giving food away. That’s awesome. Yeah, it’s, it’s gonna be fun. The, the work is nonstop for you and your team out at One Heart. Thank you for all you do. We can’t even begin to touch on the amazing stuff that’s happening there, from giving food out to helping people and connecting with resources like we’re seeing with Fedapalooza, more, more, more, more, more, and then we can help support it by going to the thrift store. All that information is in the community champion section of West.com. Look for the story. About one heart and Stephanie will post all this information about Vitapapalooza there too on Wes.com. Thank you. We also, we still have 5 vendor spots if anybody, right, yep, if anybody is interested, the email address will be up for you all as well. OK, we’re going to make sure that’s there. Yeah, connect with Stephanie. Thank you. Thank you to you and your team and continued success and thank you for the work One Heart’s doing in Central Florida. Thank you. Thank you for the love and support you all share.
